The Photographic Collective aims to highlight the work produced by photographers and visual artists based in and from Africa, especially those who are not currently represented by a gallery. Launched in June 2020, this online platform seeks to grant visibility to emerging artists, research overlooked archives, and champion new talent. By connecting various practitioners, The Photographic Collective provides a valuable resource for anyone working in the field of African photography and visual culture, featuring carefully selected works and an interactive gallery accessible to all. The platform promotes exchanges between lens-based artists, curators, academics, students, and collectors, and contributes to discussions surrounding the medium of photography in an African and an international context. The Photographic Collective was registered as a non-profit association in Switzerland in 2024.

The Photographic Collective est une initiative ayant pour but but de promouvoir le travail de photographes et d’artistes originaires et basés en Afrique, en particulier celles et ceux dont le travail n'est pas actuellement représenté par une galerie. Lancée en juin 2020, cette plateforme en ligne présente le travail d'artistes émergent·es, explore des archives méconnues et met en avant de nouveaux talents. The Photographic Collective se veut une ressource précieuse pour toute personne intéressée par la photographie africaine, qu'il s'agisse de curateur·rice·s, de photographes, de chercheur·euse·s ou de collectionneur·euse·s. La plateforme encourage les échanges entre les différents acteur·rice·s du milieu culturel africain et contribue aux débats sur le médium photographique dans un contexte africain et international. Depuis 2024, The Photographic Collective est enregistrée en Suisse en tant qu’association à but non lucratif.
